Architectural Guide. Collector’s Edition | Dom Publisher | 2017

We have written the booklet on Turin for the Collector’s Edition of the award-winning Architectural Guide series by DOM publishers (2017). The Collector’s Edition presents 200 buildings from twenty-one different cities which have produced outstanding architecture in recent years. The authors are members of the global network Guiding Architects which is dedicated to the promotion of architecture, open spaces and urban development. Each of these critics based in Europe, the Middle East or the USA presents five Highlights and five Hidden Gems comprising both modern buildings and landscape architecture.
The 20 booklets are: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Bilbao, Budapest, Doha, Dubai ∕ Abu Dhabi, Frankfurt ∕ Main, Hamburg, Istanbul, Milan, Moscow, Munich, New York, Oslo, Rome, Rotterdam, Turin, Venice, Vienna.

Domus “Innovation Issue” | 2017

Laura Milan was invited to write two articles for Domus Innovation Issue March 2017 . Domus Innovation Issue is a survey of the major changes taking place in the fields of architecture and design curated by Carlo Ratti, an Italian architect and director of the Senseable City Laboratory of the Mit of Boston.

The first article was on the vaults and compression-based structures by ODB Engineering, a partnership with roots in Boston and investigators in three countries, each developing a specific aspect. Combined with the study of building materials, the aim is to create efficient, flexible systems that cost less and are suitable for different environments.

The second article was on the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT directed by Daniela Rus, which main objective in robotics research is to augment the actions and activities that robots can conduct by collaborating and self-reconfiguring, poised to play an important role in emergencies, and improve the quality of daily life.

Icon Design | Odissea nello Spazio | 2016

We are contributors for “Icon Design”, a new magazine published by Mondadori, with several articles.

The first article we wrote was on the abandoned headquarters of the Cartiere Burgo by Oscar Niemeyer in San Mauro near Turin with pictures by Barbara Corsico, April 2016.

Laura Milan was in Venice part of the editorial board of the Live edition together with 20 reporters and a a troupe of specialised video makers: videos, interviews, opinions and photogalleries have talked about “Reporting from the Front”, the national pavillions and the collateral events.
